Thomas Docherty is Professor of English and of Comparative Literature in the University of Warwick. He previously held the Chair of English and Directorship of Research in the University of Kent, and the Chair of English (1867) in Trinity College Dublin. He is the author of numerous books, including, most recently: For the University (2011); Confessions (2012; reps. 2013); Universities at War (2015); Complicity (2016); Literature and Capital (2018); The New Treason of the Intellectuals (2018). Political English will appear in 2019. He was awarded an honorary doctorate, D. Litt., from Kent in recognition of his academic achievements and commitment to higher education.
