Susanne Stich was born in Nürnberg, Germany, and is based in the Northwest of Ireland. She has worked in the arts and educational sector as a lecturer, curator and facilitator for many years. She has an MA in English Literature and Film Studies from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen, and a PhD from University of Ulster, Belfast looking into "Visibilities of Childhood in Moving Image ". Her writing, both fiction and non-fiction, has been published in many anthologies and magazines (e.g. The Stinging Fly; The Impressment Gang; 100wordstory.org; The Cuírt Journal; Visual Artists’ News Sheet). Her visual work has been shown as part of film festivals, exhibitions, and academic conferences (e.g. Cork Film Festival; Frameline San Francisco; Merlinka Film Festival, Belgrade; Belfast Photo Festival; Burren College of Art; Journal of Media Practice Symposium, Bristol; SIEF Congress, Derry). As a member of the curatorial board at Void, Derry she curated exhibitions by Anna Konik, Margaret Salmon, Grace Schwindt and Christian Jankowski. She is currently the Literary Guide for the Reading Rooms project at Verbal Arts Centre, Derry.
