Nick Kennedy is a Cobh man, who has been living in Pamplona, Spain for the last 17 years. In spite of such time spent away, he is still reconciling vistas of Pyrenean mountains for the islands of Cork harbour. He was educated in UCC and in Colby College, Maine. Most recently, he has just completed his doctoral degree in the fields of linguistics and literature from the Universidad Pública de Navarra (UPNA) where he investigated how the imitation of poetry leads to an improvement of pronunciation on the one hand, as well as leading to the cultural and personal enrichment of the foreign language learner of English, on the other. For the thesis students listened to and imitated native speakers reciting poetry on a daily basis for 10 weeks, it is a methodology and a panacea that he would recommend universally.
