Lynsey Black is a lecturer in criminology in Maynooth University's Department of Law. Her research explores historical criminology, gender and punishment, the death penalty, postcolonialism and borders. Her monograph Gender and Punishment in Ireland: Women, Murder and the Death Penalty, 1922-64 will be published by Manchester University Press in 2022.
