Frank Shovlin is Professor of Irish literature at the Institute of Irish Studies, University of Liverpool. A native of the west of Ireland, Shovlin was educated at University College Galway and St John's College, Oxford. He is the author of 3 books on varying aspects of twentieth-century Irish writing. His edition of The Letters of John McGahern was published in September by Faber & Faber.
