I’m a mature(ish!) student about to embark on my final year of a Creative Writing and English literature degree through the Open University. (I chose to study with them as I’m married and have three children.) I have been privately writing poetry for 20 years since I was 16 and decided a little while ago that I should achieve a qualification in something that I really enjoy. I’ve worked as a youth worker in my church for the past 12 years and this had previously provided an outlet for my creativity but now I’m restless to push myself into becoming a better poet.
