Dr Ellen Howley is an Assistant Professor at Dublin City University's School of English. She co-edited the essay collection, Seamus Heaney's Mythmaking (Routledge, 2023), alongside Dr Ian Hickey. Her work has appeared in academic journals such as Irish Studies Review, the Journal of Commonwealth Literature and Comparative Literature, while her writing for general audiences has been published by the Irish Times and RTÉ Brainstorm. She is currently working on a book that examines how contemporary Irish and Caribbean poets write about the sea.
