Elke D’hoker is professor of English literature at the University of Leuven, where she is also co-director of the Leuven Centre for Irish Studies. She has worked on British and Irish modern fiction, with a particular emphasis on short fiction, narrative theory and gender studies. Current research projects deal with the short story and periodical culture. A recent publication is Irish Women Writers and the Modern Short Story (Palgrave 2016).
