I am an artist, curator and architect who lives and works in Derry. Working at the interface between the physical and the digital, my practice seeks to understand how our material world is conditioned. These include exploring underlying systems, ecologies, cybernetics and technological shifts that are dominating our everyday values.
I have been active in the creative and cultural sector for the last 8 years in different parts of the world, including London, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Lisbon as well as Northern Ireland in the last 6 years. Past roles include curator of Visual Artists Ireland's inaugural urban art festival 'New Spaces' in partnership with DCSDC in 2018; co-director of the artist-led gallery Catalyst Arts, Belfast; curator-in-residence at Flax Art Studios; visiting research associate at the Sonic Arts Research Centre, Queen’s University Belfast; member of the New Centre for Research and Practice, New York; currently a research fellow of CuratorLab at Konstfack (the University of Art Craft Design) Stockholm and working towards two art publications with Sternberg Press.
For my artistic practice, I work with sound, text, images, installation and exhibition-making to experiment with my inquiries and speculations about the present world and unknown future. Since graduated with my MA degree at the Royal College of Art London with the Year Prize (NLA/RCA award), I have exhibited and performed at Somerset House Studios, London (2020); Videotage, Hong Kong (2020); MUTEK, Montréal (2020); Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin, Derry (2020); Platform Arts, Belfast (2019); GoldenThread Gallery, Belfast (2019); CCA Derry~Londonderry (2021 & 2018); ArtNext, Hong Kong (2020 & 2017); Institute of Light, Hackney London (2017). My practice is previously funded by ACNI's General Art Award, ACES and IERP Award, a-n Freelands Foundation and the British Council. My artwork is part of the Arts Council NI public collection.
