Bernadette McCarthy

Bernadette McCarthy lives near Macroom in Co. Cork. Her prize-winning chapbook ‘Bog Arabic’, published by Southword Editions (2018), was described in the PBS summer bulletin of 2018 as “a compelling meditation on language, otherness and culture”. Poems have also appeared in journals including AgendaCrannógThe Penny Dreadful, and in the anthology On the Banks (Collins Press, 2016). She has a PhD in early medieval archaeology.
