Aimee Melaugh is an Irish visual artist based in Clarendon Street Studios, Derry. Her paintings focus on re-evaluating past traumatic events inviting the viewer into a contemplative space. Melaugh graduated from the Ulster University, Belfast with a First Class Honours in Fine Art Painting in 2018. She has been the recipient of a Belfast Print Workshop Award and was longlisted for the RDS Visual Arts Award. Other recognition include the Royal Ulster Academy Award and the purchase of her work for the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s permanent collection. In July 2019, Melaugh will be participating in a Belfast Print Workshop group exhibition in PS2, Belfast.
Her work has been exhibited in group shows at the Artisann Gallery, Belfast and in Platform Arts Belfast as part of a joint exhibition, Alternate Perspective. Melaugh had her first solo exhibition, Fragmented at An tSeaneaglais The Glassworks, Derry in 2019 which was supported by the Arts Council Northern Ireland.
