Originally from Co. Tyrone, Aileen McGee is a full-time mother of three living in Co. Donegal. In between the school runs, she likes to write poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction. Her work has featured in magazines, newspapers, anthologies and radio. She is the author of two books, A World of Our Own published by Poolbeg and A Life of Our Own published by The Liffey Press. She is a columnist for The Inishowen Independent and has won national and international awards for her radio journalism. In a former chapter of her life, Aileen lectured in Psychology and worked therapeutically in clinical/educational settings before giving up her Counselling career to home school her second child with Autism in 2001. She is a motivational speaker and presents/facilitates workshops on writing and wellness. She is currently working on her first book of fiction.
